Fun things in Scotland

Traveling from Carlisle to Annon, to Ecclefechan,  Middlebie, Dumfries, on west, and back and along  the Borders.  We visited Caerlaverock Castle, Sweetheart Abbey,  Hermitage Castle, Roxburgh Castle (ruins),

Bristol, England

One of the memorable trips, I think especially for my son, was to Bristol, England, to visit the SS Great Britain. This beautiful ship is an old wooden sailing ship that has been restored, and is now on display in the harbour in Bristol.

Visitors receive a ticket, and are encouraged to visit interactive information kiosks. Once on board the ship, there are tableaus that mimic the day to day life of crew and passengers from the era. One scared my son pretty much, there was a woman giving birth... wow...
